Mission

The Chicago Sustainability Task Force is a group of large facility operators, event organizers & their stakeholders taking action to improve operational sustainability and environmental awareness in Chicago. The group’s mission of the has two main pillars:

 

1. Improve Chicago’s Image & Environmental Initiatives

  • Cataloging sustainability practices
  • Benchmarking and reporting, in order to communicate environmental impact of collective efforts
  • Developing and implementing policies to improve resource conservation/waste reduction at largest area facilities
  • Unifying sustainability messaging across the city

2. Identify Tactics For Near-term Success & Consistent Strategy For Broader, Long-term Achievement

  • Collaborate To Positively Influence And Strengthen Local ‘Sustainability’ Infrastructure
  • Share Best Practices to Develop and Guide greater programming through our Sustainability Guidebook
  • Align with and Further the Strategy and Goals of the Chicago Climate Action Plan
